Set up your business and payments
Add your business details, then set up payments so ticket sales can reach your bank account.
Before you can publish an event, GATE98 must know who sells the tickets and where to send the money. You set up both items one time.
What you need
- A verified email address (see getting started)
- Your ABN
- An Australian business address
- A support email address and a phone number for buyers
Add your business details
- Open Settings.
- Choose Business details.
- Enter the details in the table below.
- Save the form.
| Detail | Notes |
|---|---|
| Business type | Individual, company or non-profit |
| Legal name | The name that you trade under. If you are an individual, use your own name. |
| ABN | The app checks your ABN when you save. It must be a valid 11-digit ABN. |
| Address | An Australian address, with a state and a 4-digit postcode |
| Support email and phone | Buyers see these details, so that they can contact you. The phone number must be an Australian number. |
| GST registered | Turn this on if you are registered for GST |
If a field is not correct, the app marks it. Correct the field and save again.
What "GST registered" does
- On: checkout adds 10% GST to your ticket prices. Receipts are tax invoices with your name and your ABN.
- Off: checkout does not add GST. Receipts show no GST.
You must report GST to the ATO. GATE98 does not give tax advice.
Set up payments
GATE98 creates your payments account for you. You do not sign up anywhere else, and you do not connect an existing account. Your ticket sales go into this account, not to GATE98.
- Open Settings.
- Choose Account Onboarding.
- Follow the steps in the app.
- If our payment provider, Stripe, asks for a photo ID or other details, give them. Stripe needs these details to verify you.
- When you finish, the app opens again.
The banner at the top of Home always shows the next step. The order is: verify your email, add your business details, then complete each open payment step, for example an ID check.
